Baptism
Addison will be baptized September 3rd. We are so excited that her godmother, Christie Williams and her godfather, Patrick Nugent will both be present. Additionally, all her grandparents will be together to celebrate this special occasion. I can't wait!
Justin Ellison, one of my best friend Lauren's fiance (yup, you read that right!) created Addison most perfect invitation for Addibug! See for yourself:

A weekend of 1st's....
It has been a crazy 24 hours since I came home from my last trip Friday afternoon and a weekend of 1st's!
Throw-up
For those of you who know me, know I am petrified of throwing up. Luckily, my whole pregnancy I managed to dodge the extreme morning sickness and luckily Addison has never been one to spit up her bottle. However, I was dreading the day that Addison would throw up because I knew it was bound to happen. Well, Friday was the day. CJ picked her up from school and when he went to pick her up, she threw up all over him and the floor. By the time he got her home, she was running a fever.
I came home a few hours later and sure enough, little baby looked miserable and was running a fever of 101.5. I gave her her evening bottle and minutes later she projectile vomited her whole bottle on me. Luckily it was just her bottle (not real throw up), didn't have a horrible smell so I was fine. We cleaned her up, called the pediatrician who told us to give her some baby Tylenol and Pedialyte. If she kept that down, we wouldn't need to take her to the ER. She kept it down and off to bed we went, an hour later than normal, but nonetheless.
NO more Swaddle
Friday also happened to be the day that we were going to attempt no more swaddling at night. Our friend Bridget gave us the Magic Sleepsuit to try. This sleepsuit looks crazy, looks like a snow suit, but let me tell you, IT WORKS! From the website, "The Magic Sleepsuit™ is an innovative baby product that provides babies with a cozy, calming, and safe sleep environment. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed for babies who have become too big for swaddling, yet still need that warmth and contained feeling to aide in their sleep."
We have had 2 successful nights in the sleepsuit and I am certain we will not be swaddling at night any longer. (She is still swaddled at school and during naptime because we can keep a close eye on her so she doesn't turn over on her belly and risk not being able to turn herself back over).
Babysitter
CJ and I had our first adult night out without Addison. Her evening teacher at school, Stacey, agreed to babysit while we went to Shawn and Janelle's Engagement party at the Lynfred Winery in Roselle. It was a wonderful party and get together and I am hoping to convince CJ to attend their wedding in Jamaica next March (good birthday present, huh?)! We are looking forward to more dates and adult time now that we know we have a babysitter on hand!
Pedicure
Addison and Mommy had their first pedicure together on Sunday afternoon. She now has pretty pink toenails! We are certain her teachers at school will die of laughter because they have asked over and over again when we will paint her nails. She's so freaking cute, it's impossible to not love her!

4 Month Stats
CJ took Addie to the pediatrican this past Tuesday while I was traveling in Cincinnati.
As usual, we got a GREAT report and our little girl is growing like crazy.
She is:
13 pounds, 13 ounces (in 25-50 percentile)
25 3/4 long (over 100 percentile)
41 inch head (normal, I suppose)
She got her 2nd set of shots and according to CJ screamed but was easily calmed with her paci.
We asked about getting her ears pierced and the doctor told us to wait until 6 months, so for her baptismal gift, we will get her ears pierced. We will begin rice cereal mid August and fruits and veggies in September.
She is continuing to roll over, front to back and back to front. At school she's been experimenting with the bouncy seat so we will be purchasing one at home soon. She loves her Bumbo seat and gets a lot of use out of it and enjoys seeing the world from a different view. We will begin transitioning her from swaddling at night this weekend as we have found her on her tummy more times than we care in the morning. We hope she will sleep as good as she does without the swaddle, kinda nervous.
Hard to believe our little baby is growing so fast.
Here is a great video of Addison's "talking". Turn your speakers down as her high pitch talking is quite loud.

16 week Bath time Video
Usually I don't post weekly bath time video (even though I take them weekly) but this one was funny. Addison has moved up to taking baths in the "big" bathtub and she LOVES the sprayer.
In the video CJ sprays her in the face and her expression is priceless.

Sophie Video
As mentioned in a previous post, Addison is VERY obsessed with her Sophie. Here is a video of her "chomping" down on poor Sophie.
Our First Sickness
Last Thursday morning was the WORST morning we have had in 16 weeks. Addison woke up really early and was inconsolable, very unlike her. She just wanted to be held, couldn't calm herself down and nothing we did made her happy. :(
We took her to school but forewarned her teachers she was not acting like her normal self. Around 8:30am we got a phone call and sure enough she had a fever and they asked us to pick her up. CJ picked her up and took her to the doctor for a checkup. The doctor could not find anything wrong with her and told us to keep an eye on her. As long as she was eating, we were good.
That day, she slept most of the day and by the time I came home, she was back to her happy, normal self.
Poor baby. She looks pitiful! She just wanted to be with Mommy.... |

Baby, You're a Firework!
Addison's First 4th of July!
We enjoyed a nice cookout complete with the most amazing burgers and sweet potato fries. Addison didn't make it up for fireworks but CJ and I were able to watch them from the backyard. Very pretty!
Hanging out watching TV! Her favorite thing to do! (hey, if she get's her tummytime this way, I will take it---don't judge!) |

Sophie the Giraffe
I was told by a friend that we MUST invest in the Sophie.
After doing a little research and seeing that this product got 4 stars, I decided I would pick it up the next time I go to Buy Buy Baby or Babies R Us. Well, today was that day as Addison's constant obsession with her hands in her mouth has become a bit obsessive and just plain gross. CJ and I had to pick up a few other items so we searched out for Sophie as well.
There are several different "Sophie" products, all which were fairly expensive for a "toy". At $21.99, that is a hefty investment for a toy that squeaks and can also be used for teething but none the less, I decided to pick it up. As we were checking out, we saw a cheaper "Sophie" product that was a teether, a bit smaller than the traditional Sophie so we put the giraffe back and picked up the Sophie teether. We put all our items up at the counter at Buy Buy Baby and the cashier said have you seen the giraffe product? I said yes, but we chose the teether version instead. Well, she said she would suggest the giraffe version because it was a teether, toy, squeaker in one. Okay, sold.
So, at $21.99 later, we bought Miss Sophie, opened it up at home and gave it to Addie. PURE LOVE IMMEDIATELY! She has not let go of Sophie since we gave it to her. It is easy to squeak and she loves it. She puts it in her mouth and knaws on it and gets pure enjoyment.
A well spent $22. Go, no run, and get one. This should be added to my top 10 list of MUST have items.

First Business Trip
I successfully made it through my first business trip away from Addiebug.
It was INCREDIBLY hard but I had lots of support and CJ took pictures every morning, afternoon and evening of her which helped the time go by quickly. THE LONGEST THREE DAYS OF MY LIFE!
Similar to that of daycare, I am certain after the first "trip" is behind me, I will be fine with each upcoming trip which is good, because this summer is FULL of business trips. Hey, I have to make up for not traveling the last 6 months. While it is difficult and I am certain each trip will still be difficult, I have to travel for work and I have to work to support my family.
Here are a few pictures of baby and I after we were reunited. She fell asleep in my arms within 5 minutes of holding her. Think she missed me? =)
