Eating Watermelon

We tried the mesh fruit/vegetable holder for the first time testing out Watermelon. As you can see, Addison LOVED it and got very upset when I "took" it from her. She is independent already at 5 1/2 months old. LOL!

3 Year Work Anniversary

Today marks three years at Antonelli College. In three years, a lot of things have happened.

1. CJ and I got married.
2. I got pregnant.
3. Addison was born.
4. We moved a total of 2 times (and one more is coming....)
5. I have been in 3 different offices.
6. I have traveled more in the last three years than all the traveling I did 26 years prior.
7. I won two advertising awards from a campaign I worked on (Hermes and Telly Award)
8. I started and am half way through my Master's Program
9. I have developed beyond I could have ever imagined professionally and personally.
10. I have made a difference in more students that I can imagine and boy does that feel good!

Today, I was surprised by two of my co-workers who made the cutest ladybug cake every (do they know me or what?). I felt so special!

Three long years but I wouldn't trade them for the world!

Layla-bug!

Our poor first baby, Layla had a severe allergic reaction to her vaccines this weekend. CJ took her to get her 4 year shots (yikes, she is already 4 years old!!) and brought her home. Within minutes her eyes got really red and puffy. Within 10 minutes her eyes were completely swollen shut and her face was so puffy, she wasn't the same dog.

We quickly called the vet and he told us to bring her back in ASAP and they would administer a shot. They did and about 6-8 hours later, she was beginning to look like our normal Lay-bug. Scary to say the least. She woke up Sunday morning, back to her normal, none allergic self--thankfully!

At it's worst!

Jumperoo!

Last week at school, the teachers put Addison in an activity entertainer for the first time and they told us she LOVED it. So, of course, this means we needed to buy her one too. I did some extensive research online to see which would be the best (let's face it, it HAS to be equally as good, if not better than her beloved activity mat) so, we decided upon the Fisher Price Luv U Zoo Jumeroo, which based off all the reviews online had a solid 5 stars.

SHE LOVES IT!

)Which by the way, the only other item we have that has a solid 5 star review is the Fisher Price Rock and Play Sleeper which she loves as well! )

She loves that she is upright, has a lot of activities to choose from, it makes music when she moves, and that it is hours of endless fun. Even though she is EXTREMELY long, she isn't quite long enough for the smallest length setting but no worries, we just put a few cookbooks under her and she can bounce away.

Another highly recommended product by the Hoadley family!

hi mom!
we had to put cookbooks under her so she
could "reach" something to jump on.

And we begin SOLID foods...

Since my travels are over for a few weeks and Addison's bug is gone (she had dehydration due to a gastrointestinal virus) we decided last night, Saturday, August 6th (5 months and 5 days old) would be a great time to try rice cereal and a little pureed apples and bananas for the first time.

Success!

Baby gobbled it up, seemed to know what she needed to do and ate all that we offered her; about 2 tablespoons of rice cereal and a tablespoon of apple/banana puree.

I have full intentions of making our own baby food (hello, I eat a ton of fruits and veggies thanks to Weight Watchers) but with not having the time this week, we opted for some interesting (and quite yummy---yes I tried it) packaged fruit/veggies and of course, the rice cereal.

This is what I purchased:

Below are some fun pictures of her eating solid foods for the first time.

I can do this.

Hmmm, not so sure.
Yumm!

Almost done!
Yup, I like it!
And of course, for the grandparents, a video of her eating. You will see her huge smile!

5 Months Old

Wow, Addison is already 5 months old. Hard to think in one month she will be half a year old. Here are some pictures of our 5 month photo shoot, just 4 days late as I was traveling for work when her actual 5 month mark came!

Love her to pieces!!!
not sure why this is upside down! :)

as usual, feet in mouth!

enough already!

it will be no time before she is crawling!

Here's my foot mom!

LOVE LOVE LOVE her!
